If You really wanted to look at it from another standpoint, look at the military. They take all kinds of people alot of people who cant be a police officer or any type of law enforcement officer because his/her background wouldnt allow it. As I said before nothing wrong with a officer or retired officer being a CAP member. Frankly the people i've seen WHO arent officers or ever been one some of them I laugh at. They worry way to much about looking like a pretty thing with a uniform rather than serving the country and state the way they should. They take things the hard way rather than doing it the smart way. The Police Academy Drill Instructors have a saying "Keep It Simple Stupid". From them time they hit the academy they are expected to perform 110% and not screw up. You cant screw up like the military will let you. You get booted out end of story. Then after graduation You will probably be assigned to a veteran officer for training, if you make one mistake while with Your FTO You may be gone. Then 25 or 26 weeks of basic training and so many weeks of FTO training are out the door. Then after graduation You will probably be on Your Own to respond to any and all emergencies which happen. Maybe You should try doing it once and find out what it means to "Serve". Find out You dont have 10 other people helping you make decisions or decisions in 1 second. We have a retired police officer in our squadron, hes the best we have in the enitire unit and treats people they way they should be treated un like our other leaders who were in the MILITARY. Keep it Simple Stupid a thing for us our to live by, it will make our lives and our duties go by much easier and more effective. Protect & Serve Freedom Isn't Free police Article |
